Claude Code /feedback: Report Bugs with Session Context Attached
A beginner-friendly guide to /feedback for reporting bugs and opinions on the spot when you spot odd behavior, with session context attached.
When you hit a moment of "huh, that's odd" while using Claude Code, you usually just let it slide — because you don't know where to say it. /feedback is a command for reporting a bug or opinion right there on the spot. On top of that, it attaches the current situation (session context) too, so there's less need to explain separately.
Definition (what it is)
/feedback is a command that sends a bug report or feedback (opinion). There are also aliases (different names for the same feature), /bug and /share.
Rather than just sending text, it attaches and delivers the current session context (information about what task you were in the middle of). So you don't have to explain at length "what the situation was."
How to use it (by difficulty)
Basic — report by writing the symptom
/feedback it keeps stalling
Writing one line about the symptom you experienced reports it along with the session context. You can also enter it using the alias as below and it works.
/bug it keeps stalling
Common pitfalls (only when applicable)
- Since the session context is sent along, if there's sensitive information (passwords, keys, etc.) in what you're working on, it's good to be mindful of it once before reporting.
- The more specifically you write the symptom, the better. Writing "it stalls when I use this command" rather than "it doesn't work" helps with improvement far more.
Real-world example
When you spot odd behavior during work, report it right there with /feedback. For a problem like stalling, first gather logs with /debug to secure clues, then report adding that content for a more accurate delivery.
Taking it further
Since you can flag a problem right on the spot, you as a user contribute to improving the tool. You can also send opinions like praise or improvement ideas with the same command, so use it whenever you want to leave a word, not just for bugs.
Summary
/feedback (aliases /bug, /share) is a command that reports bugs or opinions on the spot with session context attached. When you hit something odd, don't let it slide — write one line and send it to help make the tool better.
