Half a Day Finding and Organizing Material? Search, Verify, Organize at Once with Cowork Research

When researching competitor pricing or market data, have you ever spent half a day opening and digging through dozens of links and organizing them? Just seeing a browser packed with tabs tires you out before you even start. With Cowork's "research," you can hand off all that legwork. It finds material on the web, fact-checks it, then organizes it nicely.
Definition
Cowork's "research" is a feature that finds material on the web, fact-checks it, then organizes it. (Cowork is a workspace that connects external services or your folders to the AI to have it do work. It is still a trial-stage research preview feature.)
What is different from a simple search is that it also does fact-checking (cross-verification). It gathers multiple sources, cross-checks them against each other, and makes that into an organized form like a table or summary. On top of the legwork, it also handles the "organizing it reliably" part for you.
How to Use (by difficulty)
Basics — Having It Research
Say this in the chat box.
경쟁사 3곳 요금제 조사해줘
When you say it, the AI finds and gathers multiple sources on the web, fact-checks them, and organizes them. The research process scrolls on screen, and when done, an organized result comes out. It also shows the sources for where each piece of information was found.
Advanced — Receiving It as a Comparison Table
비교표로 만들어줘
You can ask for the researched content organized in table form. Getting the pricing, features, and characteristics of 3 competitors as a table you can compare at a glance is much easier to read than scattered information. Just specify the organizing form you want (table, summary, list, etc.) in words.
Deeper — Research Straight into a Document
조사해서 바로 PPT로 만들어줘
You can also connect research and document creation in one go. Instructing it like "research and turn it straight into PPT" or "the research results into a report," it gathers and organizes the material, then makes a deck or document right from it. Research → document finishes in one flow.
Common Pitfall — Check the Sources Too
Even though the AI fact-checks, it is safer to build a habit of checking the sources yourself once. Especially for frequently changing information like pricing, or numbers important to a decision. The material the AI gathered may be outdated or differ across sources.
Since the research result comes with sources, for important items, click that link once to check the original. You can also ask back "where is the source for this number?" Leave the legwork to the AI, but verify the basis for the final judgment yourself once.
Real-World Example
Before writing a new blog post, I had to research material on similar topics. Searching and organizing it myself would have taken half a day. So I delegated it like this.
이 주제 관련 자료 조사해서 비교표로 만들어줘
It gathered multiple sources and organized them into a comparison table, and I went straight into drafting while looking at that table. The half day I used to spend finding and organizing material disappeared entirely, and I went straight from the organized table to writing.
Using It Further
- Research + fact-check: It gathers material on the web and even cross-verifies it.
- Organize into a comparison table: Specify the organizing form you want, like "a comparison table of 3 competitors' pricing."
- Connect research → document: Connect research results straight into a PPT, report, or blog draft.
- Blog reference research: Delegate the entire material research for a writing topic and use it in the draft.
Tip: When having it research, the more specifically you say "what, in what form" you want, the better the result. Pointing out the items and form, like "the pricing, key features, and free-trial availability of 3 competitors as a comparison table," rather than "research the competitors," produces a result you can use right away.
Summary
The core fits in one sentence. Hand off all the legwork of finding and organizing material to Cowork. Everything from web research to fact-checking, comparison-table organizing, and document creation connects in one flow. Just verify the accompanying sources once for important numbers or frequently changing information.
